Melissa - All That Glitters Layouts

Hello, it's Melissa here!  I hope you've been out enjoying our gorgeous Autumn weather, and are looking forward to Easter and school holidays.

Today I have two layouts to share that I made with Kaisercrafts new All That Glitters Collection.  This collection is full of sparkle and gold, and is beautiful!

The first layout features the polka dot speciality paper, and collectables.  I also used a border sticker between the paper and the cardstock, and layered two paper banners under the photo.  I let the diecut phrase be the title.  The photo is of my husband, and our oldest and youngest children, taken during the summer holidays at Lake Hayes.

Here is a close up.

The second layout is of my eldest daughter when she was a bridesmaid in November last year.  This collection was perfect for this beautiful photo.  I kept the layout design very simple, and just used the one piece of patterned paper.  The die cuts are collectables from the collection.

I made a video for this layout, and at the end of the video you can see some pocket pages I made for other photos of the flower girls. You can watch the video below or on my YouTube channel here.

Thanks for looking!

Kaisercraft On Stage - Beverley

Hello everyone its Bev here today to share a couple of layouts using the On Stage Collection by Kaisercraft. This is a great collection for stage, piano, dance and film layouts. A great colour combo of black, white, red with a touch of orangy brown.

My first layout is using the piano paper as a background perfect for my photo of my daughter "playing" with the piano at the Auckland Museum. I have then layered paper and ribbons before adding flowers and Prima bling.  The ink splatter of two colours to go with the challenge this month was added last.

My second layout is another of my daughter getting ready for a dance concert a few years ago. The colours of this collection were perfect for the photo. My background was created using a Mister Huey mask and a white Heidi Swapp colur shine spray. I have then done two layered clusters - one as a background for my photo and the other a background for my journalling. The layers are created by using the papers, stickers and collectables from the collection.  The last steps to complete were to add flowers, sequins, wooden buttons and a cute wooden bird in a cage.

Thanks for looking at the blog today - see you soon!

A Layout with Betsy's Couture

Hi Everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you a layout Ive completed using Betsy's Couture :)  I loved this range, its right up my alley with its heritage theme and my favourite colour, BLUE!  My DT kit also made me think outside the square, wondering how I could incorporate my 6x6 pad into a layout instead of taking the easy way out and doing some more cards ;)

This photo is my Great Grandma's sister, Grace.  That would make her my Great Aunt :)  Isn't she beautiful?!

Ive taken four matching pieces from the paper pad and placed them in grid formation.  To create the rest of the base of the layout, Ive matted the grid piece onto cardstock and layered that onto my punched border strips, and then onto my base piece of 12 x 12 paper.

On the left side Ive arranged a selection of strips from die cuts and a few of the collectables.  On the opposite corner Ive arranged my cluster using a selection of blooms from my stash and my kit.  The chipboard is Dusty Attic that I have gessoed and then randomly stamped with a script stamp and black ink, and then inked the edges with pinecone.

Thanks for popping by, I hope Ive made you take another look at those paper pads ;) See you next time!

Christine B - On Stage Cards

Hi there - Christine B here today.  I have some cards to share using Kaisercraft's On Stage Collection...
For this card I have layered up some diecuts and Collectables onto a background from the paper pad which has a border that I made using a fiskars border punch.

The next 3 cards I have used an image from LaLa Land Crafts - Luka with Guitar - this is a digi stamp which I have coloured in with copic markers. I have fussy cut him out with my Silhouette- love being able to do this!

I loved being able to put him on the different background papers that came with this On Stage Collection.  I also cut out some related music themed pieces, with my Silhouette, out of black cardstock.

TFL

Happy Creating!

Christine S. - On Stage

Hi there, how's it going? Christine S. here today posting a layout featuring the beautiful On Stage collection.  When I first saw this collection I wasn't sure if I could work with it, but from my posts this month you can tell that I've grown to love it! My last On Stage post this month is one of my favourite layout yet:

Yes, my daughter is a natural performer in front of the camera, no persuasion needed! A plus for a scrapping mommy like me!

I love the saying from Sandi Thom & the speakers that come from the papers.

Flowers, Resin, Bling...what more can a scrapbooker (like myself) want!

Isn't this collection amazing? Hands up if you think so.  Mine definitely is! The best thing about this collection is that it can fit a vintage, & a cool & modern theme separately, or married together like this layout.  The mix of the rich brown paper with musical notes & the record, together with the chevrons & speaker boxes works so well, thanks to the On Stage collection.  Make sure to get your hands on them before they all sell out!

Thanks for popping in, & I'll see you again on my next post during Easter week.  Have a great week!

Lisa - All That Glitters layouts

Hello! Lisa here, with a couple of layouts I've made with the new All That Glitters range to share with you. :) It's a very pretty one, featuring pink, mint green and plenty of on-trend sparkle.

My first page also features one of this month's themes: inks & splatters. :) I've used a sheet of white cardstock, and added a few splatters of indian ink as a background. On top of that, I've layered some of the speciality gold glitter paper as a base for my photograph, along with a piece of fuschia mesh lace tulle on the left. On the right, I've clustered a selection of embellishments, including some of the Collectables from the range, as well as a few bits and pieces from my stash. A strip of text cut from the bottom of one of the 12x12 sheets finishes everything off.

A closer look is below:

My second layout also features white cardtock as a base, upon which I've layered some of the lovely Glow paper. My photo is placed on top, and again, embellishments are clustered around the edges, including a Kaisercraft paper doily, some bling, some wood veneers, and lastly, a butterfly border from the sticker sheet.

As always, thanks so much for looking, and I will see you again later in the month. :)

Cheers,
 Lisa :)

Kaisercraft Furry Friends (part 2) -Beverley

Its Bev today with my second layout to share using the Furry Friends Collection by Kaisercraft.  This is a great collection for documenting the dogs and cats in our life. Today's layout has my husbands cat Missy featured in it. She is no longer with us - she went to the rainbow bridge last year after being in our lives for 17 years. She was a sweet cat but not a lap cat and would purr and growl at the same time!

This layout was created using a few layers of the cat papers and stickers from the collection, hessian cloth and a gate transparancy from my collection. I then created a flower cluster which included an organza bow and cork stickers.  The layout was finished off with an ink sprinkle from a Prima Colour Bloom spray.

Thanks for looking at the blog today - I will be back next week with another new collection from Kaisercraft.

Hey Everyone in Scrappyland...Robbi here

Yep seriously don't fall off your chair...its Me ROBBI
and yes I know its been forever since I was blogging on here in fact it has been that long my password has expired
and WOW note to self don't do that again it takes forever to reset it!....so with that in mind expect to see a little of me more often lol

Anyway I'm here to show you a couple of layouts I have recently created and some cards from the recent Staveley Camp  I have just tutored at (was a blast and if you get the opportunity to join the wonderful Ladies there then grab your sleeping bag and sign up)

Oh Yea and a little heads up for those of you that were asking .....40 weeks tomorrow till Christmas Day!!!

Here is the layout I created using Miss Betsy's collection (Betsys Couture) from Kaisercraft and from what I've heard the shop cant keep up with the sales so if you haven't had a play yet with these awesome papers then I suggest you get your order in or you will miss, and now its even more important these days that you get your orders in for anything because the Companies are only producing so much of each collection and when its gone its gone.

I have had this pic of Sharon for awhile now and been looking for the perfect papers to play with....this is them the colours are amazing and the embellies are totally awesome! well done Kaiser and Miss Betsy

aren't the colours in this layout amazing....come check these out Betsys Couture

The next Layout I have been playing with is the wonderful "Oh So Lovely" Collection once again from Kaiser
I think this one is my favourite but only because of the embellies and word strips you can purchase along with the saying panels and everything just works...what do you think

this is a very special photo of Our  Daughter and Myself during a fun photo shoot at the local beach (I hate sand!)
with this paper I don't think you need to much to make everything stand out
but come check this collection out and if you have a special female in your life then this is the paper for you
But you might have to wait a little for this one to hit the shops...but like I mentioned earlier be ready to order as it wont last long

the 4 photos following are the cards I made for the recent Staveley camp...what do you think
Liz has some of the leftover kits in the shop if anyone is keen to create these.

this 1st card is using the wonderful Prima Epiphany paper and its my fav!

This above card uses the latest Doll stamp from Prima "Tommy" do you have yours yet?. I also made a wedding card using him and just cut off his hat... On this card I have also used the amazing DURABLE papers from Authentique - check them out for all male pages / cards they are really the best "male" papers I have come across in a long time
On this card above I have used some of the "Oh So Lovely".  Girly paper was the name of the green coloured one - once again don't miss out on this

Another "Male" card this time using the Weathered Paper from the Authentique DURABLE range and of course a few metal trinkets and if you know me well you will realise nothing gets made without ribbon, lace, flowers or metals adhered somewhere
Again there is a few of these card kits leftover so if you would like one contact the shop - everything has been pre stamped (except the words) for you or pre die cut.

Well that's it from me for this post, hope you are all well and scrapping up a storm or at least thinking about scrapping while we are having this awful cold period....could be a great time to clean out your scrap area and get it all ready for the long cold winter months
So on that cherry note

Happi Scrappin' and Take Care till next time we meet
"Robbi" xxx

Betsy - Cards Made At Camp

Betsy here today ladies, to share some more Betsy's Couture cards, that we made at camp. Kaisercraft has said that this collection was their biggest seller for the month. We, of course, don't doubt that!!

What an amazing weekend we had, with a fabulous group of ladies. It was a lot of fun and we did have a productive time, all told. Robbie from Dunedin and Cheryl from Christchurch were the tutors and they sure kept us on our toes. On Sunday morning I had the privilege of  sharing with the ladies what can be done with my favourite collection, Betsy's Couture. There seemed to be a positive consensus! Many thanks goes to Liz, for all the work she put into making this such a fun weekend.

For this card I taught the ladies how to make a recessed window card and other than that, it was very simple.

Even though I prefer pretty cards, we had to make a male card, just to show that a lovely collection can be used in various ways. It is a 5 1/4" square card.

A double Z fold card here, held together with a belly band. If anyone is interested I am sure there is a tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. Once you have made this card once, you will find it is rather easy to duplicate.

Remember the challenge this month is INKS AND SPLATTERS, but I am not an inks and splatters person, so sorry I haven't followed. Sepia inking is about as far as I go!  There are prizes to be won, so do have a go ladies. It is always lovely to see what you all come up with. There is also a sketch which you can follow, just check on Artfull Crafts' website.

Thanks for stopping be, happy crafting everyone and many blessings.

Betsy.

Christine S. - On Stage

Good day.  Christine S. here today showcasing the new On Stage collection.  I've created an album which is a little thank you for my sister in law.  She helped look after my little girls while we were moving house so I wanted to give her a keepsake.  If you're reading this post, thank you soooo much :)!  I've asked for her permission if I could post this album on the blog, & she gave me the go signal...so here it is.

I've used the Kaisercraft large signature book for this, & transformed it into an album.  Here's the front cover:

Remember This Moment

018

I stamped & embossed the Victorian stamp on top of the cluster of Prima flower & die cut leaves.  I've painted the title chipboard with pearl paint, which really make it pop against the deep reds.
Now let's look inside the pages:

020

Subtle stenciling & stamping has been added throughout the pages.

024

025

Love the die cut specialty gloss record paper.  Isn't she super talented!

032

034

041

I've left a framed journaling space for her to document the whole event.

044

I've also added a large pocket for her to add extra photos/keepsakes.

So there's a musical album filled with wonderful memories to keep...a lovely thank you gift to give indeed.  You can purchase the On Stage collection here.  Thanks so much for dropping in & I'll see you then.

Kaisercraft Furry Friends By Kaisercraft (part 1) - Beverley

Hi everyone Bev here again with a layout using a fun collection from Kaisercraft called Furry Friends. Half the collection is cats and the other half is dogs.  This is a great way to document those photos of your fur babies.

We sadly lost both of our cats within a week of each other -Missy and Harley- last year from cancer and heart disease respectively.  They were in our lives for 17 years. It was heartbreaking. So when this collection came up I thought it would be great to start doing some layouts of the cats as I don't have a lot of layouts with them in. I am not ready to journal about losing them but one day as it is important to create layouts of not just the good times. The layout I am sharing today is of the cat I chose - My Harley and my daughter.  In his later years he got very affectionate towards her and she was calmed done by him. She misses him terribly so I decided to create this for her album.

I started the layout by using a Prima Mask and texture paste.  I then added some strips of the patterned paper and Hessian Ribbon. Using Prima Colour Bloom sprays I sprayed the background.
I also sprayed some chipboard cogs made from a Tim Holtz die which I then added to the layout along with some stickers from the collection. The layout was finished off using brown string and flowers.  some of the flowers have paw print stickers as centres.

So if you have any fur babies this collection is a great way to record memories of them. Thanks for visiting today - have a great week!

Betsy's Couture - Megan

Hi Everyone!

Its been awhile since I shared some creativity :(  February was a lean month for the old mojo, I say lean but really I didn't have a drop!  And it drove me nuts, heaven knows there loads of ideas running through my brain I just wasn't getting anywhere :(  I did become  a qualified professional paper push-arounder though lol!  Thankfully the drought has eased and I cropped up a storm at a retreat last weekend :)  So I have a couple of cards to share with you today.

Theres a group of us that get together and crop regularly; well we aim for once a week but it doesn't always happen!  Life gets in the way sometimes ;)  Well one of the group has had a bit of a rough time so I created a card we all could sign and with a bunch of gorgeous flowers later it was delivered.

I've used papers from the 6x6 pad with some of the Collectables and check out those new Green Tara lace flowers!  As a sympathy card I thought the "lifetime of memories" strip was perfect for it.

The second card is made with the bits left over from a layout Ive done - I'll be sharing that next week! - Ive added a few pieces of the Collectables again.  The background has been created by randomly stamping with my two favourite Kaisercraft stamps and seeing as its splatter month ;) Ive added some splatters using BoBunny sprays.

Those of you that know me, know I hate messy so splattering is not really my thing but this is so easy and I don't get dirty lol.  Just shake your bottle so the colours are mixed, undo the lid and hold the knozzle up and let it splatter where it falls.  Easy Peasy!

Wishing you a mojo filled week!

Betsy - Two More Betsy's Couture Cards

Betsy here this morning. Sorry, I haven't been around for a while but life seems to have got in the way. Anyway, we are back in circulation now for a week or two until Rachelle has her surgery. It does look as though the other girls have been doing an excellent job keeping up with the blog posts. Thanks girls for your wonderful contributions.

Now , I know this month's challenge is Inks and Splatters but if any of you know me, you will know that I do not like getting messy, ageing with sepia ink seems to be as much as I can handle. I must admit though, I do admire all the lovely work that has been shared. So on that note ladies, I am going to showcase two more cards made with my favourite collection, Betsy's Couture. I am so loving working with it.

This is a 5 1/4" card and I have used the lovely EK trellis punch, to punch out the border. Do check, because I have used sepia ink round the edges of this one. No splatters, but ink! Just trying to validate myself ladies!

Another 5 1/4" card and with this one I decided to go with pink. The picture was found on Pinterest, I printed it out onto one of the 6 1/2" papers after down sizing it. Came out beautifully and goes so well with the collection.

That's all today ladies - check out the challenges here at Artfull Crafts, as there is always prizes to be won and we do enjoy seeing your work - splatters and all!

Happy crafting and blessings all round,

Betsy.

Christine S. - Easy As Splats

Hi there, Christine S. here posting a few tips on adding splats on your pages.  As you know, the challenge for this month is incorporating inks & splatters.  I do love messy play & the process of mixing colors & getting inky fingers (a fun process indeed).  This is not to everyone's taste, though.  If you'd like to add splats to your layout without using sprays/mists & getting overly messy, then I've got a couple of tips that'll do the trick.  What you simply need is a set of Stains stamps.  There is such a variety out there from different manufacturers so it's easier than ever to add splats on your projects.  One of my favourite is Kaisercraft's Stains stamp which I'll be showing you today.

Let's start off with the easiest way to add splats: Add your desired ink pad color to your stain stamp & stamp directly on the paper.  Here's a layout I made with lots of brown splats (& other inks as well):

Simple, easy, not messy!

Second tip is what I've learned from Kaisercraft DT member Rachael Funnel from one of her Teusday Tip.  Simply apply some light ink pad color on the stain stamp first, then apply a darker color on the outer parts of the stain stamp, & stamp away! Here's a layout I've made with these splats:

There's lots of light & dark pink ink splatters on the background as well, along with some pink watercoloring & black misting too.

For the last tip, you'll need the same stains stamp, a small paintbrush & Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam or Glaze with your color choice (I use Tattered Angels goodies almost all the time...love 'em!).  These paints are perfect compared to normal acrylic paints because it is not as thick & will give the desired result.  I'm using Ladybug Glimmer Glam as shown:

Rest assured this is not going to be messy...unless you spill your bottle of Glimmer Glam (eeek!)!

Step 1
Apply some Glimmer Glam/Glaze on the stamp.  No need to apply too much.

Step 2
Stamp on your page

Step 3
Stamp again without adding any paint for a different effect

Voila!

Once finished, make sure to clean your stamp straight away with a stamp cleaner & a baby wipe.
(this is important!)

Here's my first layout contribution at the beginning of the year for Artfull Crafts with these red splats:

I've also added some yellow ink splatters here as well.

Incorporating splats on you layouts/cards need not be scary & messy.  With these stamps you get full control on how your splats will look like, where you want them.  Leave a comment or two if you've got any questions.  Don't forget to join in our March challenge here.  Thanks for dropping in & I'll see you again.
